Lukas Rosen (*1992, Germany) studied Illustration at HAW Hamburg. “241 I 6 I 16” takes a set of real geographic coordinates and pairs them with a fictional name, marking a place that genuinely exists — just not in the form the painting gives it. That gap is where the work lives: the coordinates promise you a findable, verifiable spot on the map, and then the image declines to match it, so the painting becomes a place that is and isn’t there at once — somewhere real, reimagined past the point of return.
