Len Bay (*1994, Germany) studied Installation and Space at HGB Leipzig. “kick kick” is a mixed-media assemblage built from materials pulled straight out of the tuning scene — the world of modified cars, where engines, bodywork and trim get pushed well past the factory spec. Bay treats that subculture as raw material, assembling its bits and offcuts into something to be looked at rather than driven, and the title carries the engine note: “kick kick” is the sound and the motion of the thing turning over, all torque and ignition with nowhere to go. Recently exhibited at Raw Lemon Gallery Leipzig.
