With a background in Fine Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts Münster, Isabel Schober (*1992, Germany) creates works that cleverly question societal expectations. Her captivating piece, “told you so”, takes a thoughtful and engaging look at the borders of masculinity. Rather than relying on heavy theory, the artwork playfully challenges traditional ideas of manliness—exploring the fragile, often blurred edges between toughness, vulnerability, and modern identity. It is a highly conversational and relevant work from an artist whose practice was recently showcased at the Sous Sol project space (Quartier am Hafen) in Cologne.
